A stuck door is a security problem, not a maintenance chore. Our technicians carry springs, cables, rollers and opener gears on the van — so most repairs finish on the first visit.
01 — Point at the problem
A garage door has one job and about six ways to fail at it. Pick what yours is doing and the schematic will show you where to look.
02 — What we carry on the van
We don't order the part and come back Thursday. Vans are stocked for the failures that actually happen in South Florida.
03 — Broward is inside the HVHZ
When a garage door fails in a storm, the pressure doesn't stop at the garage — it gets under the roof. Broward and Miami-Dade sit in the High-Velocity Hurricane Zone, where doors need a Florida Product Approval or Miami-Dade NOA, and the label has to match the opening it's installed in.
We'll tell you whether your existing door can be reinforced or needs replacing, and we'll show you the approval paperwork before anything is ordered.
04 — Where we drive
Based in Fort Lauderdale. If you're in one of these cities, a stocked van is already close.

05 — Before you call
Short answers, no hedging. If yours isn't here, ask the technician when they arrive — the estimate is free either way.
Usually, yes. We run 24 hour garage door repair across Fort Lauderdale and Broward County, and vans carry springs, cables, rollers and common opener parts. Call early and you're likely getting a slot the same day; call at 2am with a door stuck open and we'll treat it as an emergency, because an open garage is an open house.
It depends on the spring's length, wire size and cycle rating, and whether your door runs one spring or two. We won't quote a number over the phone that changes when we arrive. The technician measures, shows you the price in writing, and you decide before any work starts. We do recommend replacing springs in pairs — a new spring paired with a worn one puts the door out of balance and shortens the life of both.
It's the safety system doing its job, but something is triggering it. Nine times out of ten it's the photo-eye sensors near the floor — knocked out of alignment, dirty, or a wire pinched by a trimmer. Wipe both lenses and check that the indicator lights are steady, not blinking. If they're steady and the door still reverses, the opener's close-force limit needs adjusting, and that's a service call.
No. A torsion spring holds enough stored energy to break bones, and the winding bars have to be sized to the cone. This is the one repair on the door where we'd tell you flatly to stop. Rollers, sensor cleaning and remote batteries are fine to handle yourself — springs and cables are not.
We repair first where it makes sense. LiftMaster, Chamberlain, Genie, Wayne Dalton, Sears and Raynor units are all serviceable — stripped drive gears, dead logic boards, worn trolleys and travel-limit faults are common and fixable. When a unit is old enough that parts cost approaches a new opener, we'll say so rather than sell you a repair that buys eighteen months.
Broward County sits inside the High-Velocity Hurricane Zone, so garage doors installed here need a Florida Product Approval or a Miami-Dade Notice of Acceptance, and the approval has to match the actual opening size and configuration. Some existing doors can be reinforced with a rated bracing kit instead of replaced. We'll assess which applies to yours and show you the paperwork before anything is ordered.
No. Every technician is in-house and background-checked. That's also why the person who quotes the job is the person who does it — there's no handoff where the price changes.
